Meet The Principal

Forest Hill School

Ms. Fatihah Abdur-Rahman

Parkside Proud Principal of

Forest Hill

Family School

Fatihah Abdur-Rahman's desire for urban education began years ago as an assistant teacher at a Camden Head Start. While there, she interacted with students that were performing below their grade level. From this interaction, she decided to be the change and pursue her BS in Elementary Education. After graduating, she remembered her promise years ago to make a positive change in Camden. After just one year of teaching at Parkside Elementary in Camden, NJ, Ms. Abdur-Rahman was selected by her colleagues as teacher of the year. She was also selected by the Camden City BOE to pursue an MPA in Educational Leadership at Rutgers University. While at Rutgers, Fatihah became the first educator from Camden, NJ to travel to South Africa with the Rutgers SA Initiative. After com-pleting her MPA, Fatihah continued her education and was awarded a MEd and EdS in Curriculum and Instruction at Walden University. Ms. Rahman continues her education and plans to graduate in 2019 with her EdD in curriculum, instruction, assessment.
